Dr. Robert Sproles, VP of Constellation Planning and Operations
Robert Sproles serves as Vice President of Constellation Planning and Operations at Spire Global, a leading global provider of space-based data, analytics and space services. He has more than 20 years of experience in technical program development and engineering management.
Robert has been with Spire since 2015, where he installed a global ground station network, was hands-on with the early satellite builds, led the satellite design team, and today leads operations, launch, communications and ground stations to enable tomorrow’s constellation needs. Spire has launched over 150 satellites and today operates the world’s largest constellation of multipurpose Earth Observation satellites.
Before Spire, Robert had a career in large-scale emergency response where he developed a UAV program to aid in assessing chemical disasters and pioneered remote field data collection using mobile devices.
Robert holds a Ph.D. in applied physics from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a specialization in rocket engine health and performance.
